They all knew that this game would be no walkover in the park from the ex Div 1 side and as it transpired the crowd were witness to a great game of league cricket.

Team discussing tactics and when the next drink is coming. |
After the resumption the Diamond bowlers bowled tighter and made life tough for Ravi and Deo who could only score at around 4 an over. Ravi reached a much anticipated 68 before he was out bowled complaining of lack of energy, side strain, headaches, and general lack of fitness. Deo was not out at the end with a fine 40 score and also came back crying about how unfit he was (bro you don't have to tell us that, we already knew and that is no secret...), as the Hustler innings closed at 207 for 3.

The next 12 overs saw they game go one way then back another way as both sides played tough league cricket. Terry, Mohan, Ravi, and Retesh bowled magnificently in the second half but Diamond were still up with the run rate until the end where they needed 24 off the last over bowled by Terry. A six went off the first ball but then Terry ran out one of the Diamond batsman off the second. Singles were then taken off the remaining delieveries to see Hustler win the game by 14 runs.

The Hustler squad all celebrated the win well past the end of the game with Diamond manager Lloyd who got a little concerned when he saw the 4th round of drinks appear from the local cornerstore.
Thanks to all the supporters who came to watch our superb win and we hope you comeback next week for the next episode.

A very good win Hustlers. Congratulations
ReplyDeleteThey claimed the toss? It maybe in the rules of the league to do so but didn't they realise with all the rain all morning there would be a slight delay?
ReplyDeleteThis was a good game to watch. I see the last few overs and it proved that Hustler is not an easy team to beat once their batting and bowling click at the same time.
ReplyDeleteRavi and English again scoring the bulk of the Hustler runs. These 2 still need to do their thing in the big game next week.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know if English break any records for socres of 107, 66*,101*, 79, 52, and now 62 all consecutively? I never seen that happen before,
Chris you are doing a great job by posting our match results on your site, and keeping our fans informed.
ReplyDeleteThe hustlers squad are proud of you, keep up the good work.

This site is not mine. It belongs to our team Hustlers and the info is supposed to help promote our game here in SFlorida. Thanks for the pat of the back.
DeleteThe youngster bowling for hustlers at the end looks a good prosepect.
ReplyDeleteSure indeed. He is one for the future among the few youngsters who are playing softball.
DeleteIf the sport don't see more like him, it'll die a slow death.
The league should set up an incentive program for the kids playing the game rather than giving out an enormous amount of trophies to people who's using them as fire wood.
Incentive? The league can't even organise a drinking session in a free bar......They spend too much time organising the fl cup and the presentation 12 months of the year.
Deleteby the way....they dont even do that right
