  3. It looks like the boys are off to Orlando in March with Amar and his SCI squad. That could be an interesting drink party, I meant cricket competition.

  4. Sfcl moved their competition to Orlando or we're having separate ones in the same month?

  5. Separate comps in the same month.

The timing by the Orlando league seems interesting.

  6. Very interesting indeed, as I don't see teams coming from far will do it twice in the same month, unless they are retired and have nothing to do.

If teams chose not to tour twice , this will definitely lower the level of
    competition. Just saying.

  7. Basically it boils down to who has the most cash prize to offer to lure in the teams. If teams want to support one or the other, it's their choice at the end of the day.

  8. Yes, they have " other exciting prices" you won't know until you're there.
Teams had enough of our holi water?

  9. Just join the above conversation and what I gather here is, this League will be held accountable if this competition stopped by lack of support.

    1. The league can't be made accountable simply because they can't stop other organisations from doing their own thing. The SFSCL does not have that power.

This is not a worldwide governing body overseeing leagues that can surface whenever they feel the need to. This is all about power struggles between 2 leagues.

    2. Hey, that can't be true when visiting teams welcome this change because they don't like the way prezzie and his League running things.

    3. Other teams are free to do whatever they want. There is no written contract saying that teams have to attend any League competitions. Teams support these tournaments at their own expense.

It would be a shame to see the Florida Cup fold up without the support of other leagues but an old adage says, " When one door closes, others will always open"......

Opening the Florida Cup up to independent teams is the way forward. It stopped being a league comp years ago anyway.

    1. Yes, indeed there are rumours of changes.......very big changes are in the pipeline. Nothing is ever for sure until the first game and the first 11 is selected though.

    2. are you guys changing the cow pasture too?

    3. By all recent accounts everybody has stopped complaining about our Yard as most teams enjoy watching balls disappearing with great regularity towards the Turnpike. The only people complaining now are the execs as the new 30 over game rules now mean we shall be doubling up on lost balls every sunday.

  11. 30 over game ? Wtf? This will eliminate the injured and the old guys for good.

Before that the Orlando comp and if we are all still able to walk after all that cricket without any walking aids we will aim to compete in the SFSCL season........Bandages, walking sticks, walking frames are more than a welcome donation from any new sponsors wanting to save us......lol
