Next Game....SEMI FINAL v DIAMOND CC
Sunday September 1st
Lauderhill Middle School
12 30pm start
Semi finals days is fast approaching for Hustlers 2, Breakaway, D Diamond and Diamond CC's.
The Div 2 regular season has come to a finish with 11 rounds of games being played which saw some exciting games involving Hustlers.
Having lost only once this season, the Hustler team know that this time of the season is when the game tempo steps right up and a loss will mean the end of the season for the losing side. Diamond CC will be no pushover, as we saw last sunday in our regular season game, but what we saw was two good teams playing to their best ability and being competitive and the game going down to the final few overs before a result was decided. This game may prove to be an exciting one for all the fans as well.
Good luck to all 4 teams involved this sunday in the semi finals and may the best two teams move on up to the Final.

Hustlers crack the Diamonds in Round 11
In the last regular game of the Division 2 season, Hustlers played Diamond CC at The Yard knowing a win would secure the number one position going into the semi finals with homefield advantage.
They all knew that this game would be no walkover in the park from the ex Div 1 side and as it transpired the crowd were witness to a great game of league cricket.
Diamond CC claimed the toss after the late start due to the rain and late pitch preparations (we are not even going to go there on that one as that is a whole different story), and inserted Hustlers into bat first. Chris and Cliff opened the innings and after a blistering start Cliff was first out. The scoreboard ratttled allong at over 10 an over with Chris continuing his impressive season form with sixes galore all around the park He was next out with the score on 93 after 9 overs with his contribution being a rapid 62.Ravi and Deo took their team to the break with the score reading 127 for 2.
After the resumption the Diamond bowlers bowled tighter and made life tough for Ravi and Deo who could only score at around 4 an over. Ravi reached a much anticipated 68 before he was out bowled complaining of lack of energy, side strain, headaches, and general lack of fitness. Deo was not out at the end with a fine 40 score and also came back crying about how unfit he was (bro you don't have to tell us that, we already knew and that is no secret...), as the Hustler innings closed at 207 for 3.
Diamond got off to a fast start but for some top bowling from Amar (Singh is King), saw their innings stutter. They lost a few batsmen before the 13th over but were still in at a good position with their score at 113.
The next 12 overs saw they game go one way then back another way as both sides played tough league cricket. Terry, Mohan, Ravi, and Retesh bowled magnificently in the second half but Diamond were still up with the run rate until the end where they needed 24 off the last over bowled by Terry. A six went off the first ball but then Terry ran out one of the Diamond batsman off the second. Singles were then taken off the remaining delieveries to see Hustler win the game by 14 runs.
This was a very close game with both teams fighting until the end. If this game matches the semi final next week then we are all in for a brilliant game of cricket again.
The Hustler squad all celebrated the win well past the end of the game with Diamond manager Lloyd who got a little concerned when he saw the 4th round of drinks appear from the local cornerstore.
Thanks to all the supporters who came to watch our superb win and we hope you comeback next week for the next episode.
Next game is next sunday.

Division 2 Champions ?
The Teams in contention are:
Hustlers 2
Diamond
Breakaway
D Diamond
These 4 teams have already secured their playoff position in the race to become Summer Division 2 Champions.
Who out of the 4 teams will win?
Could it be a Hustlers or Breakaway victory with both sides losing only once this season. Diamond will be looking to go back into Division 1 after being relegated last season or will it be D Diamond's turn who have never won a Championship?
Which team looks the better bet for the win?

Dilshan to join Guyana Amazon Warriors
Tillakaratne Dilshan
has become the fifth Sri Lanka player to sign up with the inaugural
Caribbean Premier League. He will join Guyana Amazon Warriors as a
replacement for the injured New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill, who broke a bone in his right hand in the match against Antigua Hawksbills on August 17.
![]() |
Tillakaratne Dilshan is expected to reach the Caribbean in time for Guyana's semi-final against T&T |
Dilshan will join his Sri Lanka team-mate Lasith Malinga, who is also
with Guyana. The other Sri Lanka players in the CPL are Muttiah
Muralitharan and Kumar Sangakkara (Jamaica Tallawahs) and Mahela
Jayawardene (Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel).
Guyana coach Roger Harper said: "While it is sad to lose a player of
Martin Guptill's ability at this stage of the tournament, we are
delighted to have secured a top-quality replacement in Tillakaratne
Dilshan.
"He offers so much to any side he plays for, as an attacking batsman, a
useful bowler and also someone who is outstanding in the field. We look
forward to him linking up with us ahead of Thursday's semi-final and
his big-match experience will be a great asset to us."
Division 2 Standings after Round 10
All four teams are already set for the playoffs with the final positions being decided this coming weekend. If Hustlers lose to Diamond this sunday, they will find themselves in 3rd position and would have to play D Diamond in West Palm Beach but that is only if both D Diamond and Breakaway win their respective last games as well.
A win for Hustlers will mean they top the group with homefield advantage.

Hustlers beat Raiders CC in Round 10
After a 2 weekend break from league action due to walkovers, Hustlers met Raiders CC in Round 10 of the SFSCL.
With a lack of competitive cricket for the Hustlers team, they all knew that game rustiness could be a major factor against the Raiders team.
Raiders won the toss and decided to bat first on their home wicket. Amar and Terry started off the innings well by bowling tight lines early on with Terry being the successful one as he bowled out his 5 overs for 18 runs and grabbed 4 good wickets.
Raiders went to the break at 47 for 5. Ravi caught 3 decent outfield catches to assist the bowlers as the Raiders batsmen struggled to score at a good rate. They accelerated in the second 12 overs and finished on 120 for 9 in their 25 overs.
Cliff was first out in the Hustler run chase and was followed quickly by Ravi, Mukesh, and Basil.
Chris and Keshore brought their team back into the game with a solid partnership before Keshore was out for a fine 32.
With only 11 needed to win from 4 overs, Chris was bowled for 52. A mini collapse ensued to make the tension on the sideline rise as the Hustler middle order folded up.
It came down to 4 runs off the last 12 before numbers 10 and 11 batsmen Mike and Retesh scrambled home the winning run with 1 ball to spare.
It was a tight finish for the Hustler team but in the end, they got home by the skin of their teeth to take the win and 6 points on offer.
Next week they play their last regular season game against Diamond CC at the Yard.

Malinga joins Guyana in CPL
Lasith Malinga
has joined the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the last stage of the
Caribbean Premier League. Malinga will replace Pakistan allrounder
Mohammad Hafeez, who will leave after the league stages to play for
Pakistan on their Zimbabwe tour, which starts on August 23.
![]() |
Lasith Malinga becomes the CPL's second high-profile Sri Lankan signing of the day |
The Barbados Tridents have also made a change to their squad, signing Azhar Mahmood
to replace Umar Akmal. The allrounder is a sought-after player in most
major domestic T20 leagues around the world. He is the fourth-highest
wicket-taker in T20 cricket, with 213 wickets from 188 games, behind
Alfonso Thomas, Malinga and Dirk Nannes.
Malinga, one of the most lethal fast bowlers in the shorter formats, is
the third Sri Lankan to play in the CPL. Muttiah Muralitharan is part of
the Jamaica Tallawahs while Mahela Jaywardene is set to join
the Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel from Thursday. Malinga will be the
fourth overseas player for Guyana, who had earlier signed the New
Zealand pair of Martin Guptill and James Franklin along with Hafeez in

Hustlers next game v Raiders CC in Round 10
After two consecutive weeks of walkovers, the Hustler squad's next game is against Raiders CC at Margate.
With Hustlers sitting nicely at the top of the league, another win will mean a top 2 position for the boys in red with the last game a formality against Diamond CC.
With no game yesterday to play, a few of the Hustlers headed over to watch Diamond play Breakaway CC. This game was an important one for both sides and we were entertained to watch a very good game of cricket between the two.
Diamond posted 211 in their 25 overs and Breakaway won within the 23rd over with some great batting by their skipper Denny and opener Snake who both hit 50's to lead their run chase.
Many stories and micky taking was told during the game and after as the Hustler few exchanged stories of their own. "Good elastic 2 dollars a yard for the ladies back in Guyana" was one of the best stories of the day.
English Mango Muffins were snapped up by one player and then repossessed by another as the beers went down quickly.
All in all if was another fun day out for all concerned watching league cricket in the SFSCL.

Hustlers get another walkover win and 6 points.
The Hustlers squad have already secured their 6 points for the win as Renegades CC gave them a walkover for this weeks scheduled league fixture in Round 9.
We will take the win with no problems at all but with last weeks game also a walkover, we will now go 3 weeks without a competitive game.
However, the break is always a good thing for us and will take good use of our free sunday watching Breakaway CC take on Diamond CC at Willie Webb Park and see what these potential playoff teams have to offer.
