Hustlers lose Div 2 Final to Warriors CC

Hustlers with their runner up Trophy
Warriors 200 for7 in 25 overs
Hustlers 163 for 6 in 25 overs

Hustlers lose by 38 runs.

The game itself was played in the right spirit with both teams vying for the Championship Trophy and as it turned out, Warriors batted, fielded, and bowled better collectively than Hustlers to claim the win.

The Hustlers team can still be pleased with the season they had to reach the Final as they played good cricket all the Spring season. It just happened that they left their worse performance for the final and let themselves down. The Hustler players still stayed back after the game to take a few cold ones well into the evening with their followers.

Runners up
During the off season Hustlers will see a few big changes in regards to their playing numbers as some of the players have decided to go elsewhere to play their cricket for other sides. Some new faces are already pencilled into the squad and we will welcome them. We would like to wish them all the best wherever they end up to our leaving players.

Congratulations once again to Manny and his Warriors squad for their win as we now look forward to playing in Div 1 next season.

Ground preparation with a knife on hands and knees !!!

Dillon with the Runner Up Trophy
Meanwhile in the other Div final, Hustlers 1 got beaten by a very strong United team.

  1. it was a shame to see that the other hustler team was supporting Warriors from the side. Why bother having the same name? CHANGE THAT SHIT NOW.

    2. I say get rid of the hustler 2 tag. What do both sides have in common anyway? Do they run together?

    3. THEY MUST LIKE ABUSING THE H2 TEAM. THEY THINK THEY ARE ALLOWED TO DO THAT....**INSALLAH FRESH NAME**

    4. Guys,
Hustlers were not supporting Warriors. They were only cheering for FISH. His other two brothers plays for Hustlers and his entire family was there. They were just happy he had a chance to score some runs.
I don't think they meant any disrespect to Hustlers 2.

    5. Anoop,

You don't know half the story between H1 & H2. Even when they come watch us in reg games they carry on the same way.

Name change is a very serious possibilty for us as they have nothing to do with us or us with them in the off season or during it.

    6. Certain individual in the Hustler 2 camp want to keep the name as he has been there a longtime and thinks the name stays forever. He already say he will leave if it changes.....guess what he is leaving this season so now name can change. Let's see what happen

    7. is he leaving coz he is unhealthy or leaving coz he can't play divisin one?

  2. The ground for both games was a poor effort from the league execs. Final games should be on the best pitch available and not some last minute cow pasture. The league has more than enough money to get somewhere decent. hopefully next time they do !!

    1. How funny was it to see grown men on their knees cutting down the pitch with a knife?

    2. Buy both pitches and get one half price deal. I bet the music man cost more than the 2 pitch

    8. Everyone is quick to place blame on the executives without knowing the facts. It is not about the money.
How many of you know of grounds where two cricket matches can play side by side? And how many of those ground are available?
The only two parks that can allow two games are Miramar Regional and Brian Piccolo. Well both parks were booked by hardball for their finals.
Maybe you guys don't know but the hardball leagues book those two parks for the entire year. When we get to use those grounds it is because hardball is not using it and they let us use it once we pay them the fee. Unfortunately they had their finals the same weekend so they could not help us.
Let it be known from now... BOTH of those ground are already BOOKED by the hardball leagues for our Summer Finals and Fall finals at the end of the year. The only way we will get those grounds is IF the hardball league agrees to move their games to allow us to use it for the Finals. That''s what happened Fall season of last year.
Other options are: Please each Division final at different grounds. BUT some will still complain about that... why the executives split up the games.
OR - Play the Finals on different weekends. Again it will be the executives fault for some reason.
So at the end of the day ... it is always the executives faults. Maybe you guys will like to help make some changes for the betterment of the league.

    9. If the finals have to be played at one good pitch venue then so be it. First final start at 11 30 or 12 followed by the other. If lights are necessary then pay for the extension. SIMPLE

    10. Anoop and cronies feel they can throw everything down people's throat and get away with it. You cannot run the league effectively without listening other than your own voices.

Even though I sympathize with the league's effort finding a suitable ground, the stunt they pull mins before the game getting a pitch ready with a pocket knife tells me otherwise.

The pitch should have been ready a day before or very early before the teams arrived.

      Delete
    11. That really shows no planning for the final day pitches. The league execs only consideration is how much to pay and just get on with it and blame everybody else. No pitches for finals? Jokers.....there are pitches everywhere if you pay for them. Last minute screw ups !!!!

    12. Side by side final games is not always possible. Just get the start time right for the first game instead of 10 am on sunday morning. Let the fans turn up at a reasonable time because finals day is not always about the teams playing, the fans are just as important.

  3. Tough luck Hustlers 2.

  4. Hustlers lose the game after the wariors last 12 over start when batting. too many run give away. drop catches did not help to

  5. Hustler train crashed into the other Hustlers train of heavy passengers

  6. Talk to the hustlers 2 top line batsmen saperately and all of them blaming giving the same reason for the loss. They blame either the fielding, batting line up or both. None of them is taking the blame for their poor batting performance. Maybe it is a Guyanese thing.

  7. They are many thinks to blame but the game is done and dusted...Kudos to winner , prez, music bai, pitch doctor, drinks provider, 90,000 spectators, etc.

Most of all the two banas who sit out for the final 11.

    Next time!!

  8. Well no one should blame any one the team play bad cricket and we lost. The team should feel happy there make it to the final.

  9. But why did they open with Mike when he do not want to open. He is always a specialist number 4 or 5 batsman. Why experiment in a final.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hindsight is always best once the game is over. My take on why we lost is pretty simple. We just were never at the races after Warriors started their second 12 when they were batting. We started off badly in the run chase and after we lost 3 quick wickets the writing was always on the wall for our loss.
Remember that the Warriors bowlers deserve credit as well, they bowled tight early on and we never had any loose deliveries to put away.

They simply outperformed us in all aspects.

    2. ...HE WAS ALLOWED TO AS WE ALL KNOW FISH CAN'T BAT.
HE WAS PROMPTED BY WARRIORS SUPPORTERS-HUSTLER1

    3. That is an unfair statement. The kid can bat. He was given the same opportunity with us and proved he was still learning how to bat then and that was why he was not so good at that time. Now it seems he is moving along nicely.

      Good luck to him

  14. ACCORDING TO ANOOP'S EXPLANATION THE HARDBALL LEAGUE ARE BETTER ORGANIZED WITH MORE SENSIBLE PEOPLE RUNNING IT.
OUR SO CALLED LEAGUE WAS ORGANIZING TWO GROUNDS WITHOUT PITCHES FINALS MORNING.

THE MUSIC WAS THERE BEFORE THE TWO TEAMS ARRIVED BLARING THE LEGEND BOB MARLEY TUNE ' DON'T WORRY ABOUT A TING'

WHAT ELSE THIS LEAGUE HAVE TO SHOVE DOWN OUR THROATS?

    1. backyard cricket = backward thinking

Kudos to the pitch curator for having a 6 inch paint line down the center of the batting wicket.

Very nice color affect in between the dead brown grass and weeds.

      Just like playing at Lords......lol

    2. Don't forget the very close goalposts each end of the ground so we could hang our bats, gloves and wet shirts on.
